🩺 A full check-up for your charity's paperwork

When did anyone last read your policies?

Every charity has a folder of policies somewhere — half of them written years ago, some missing entirely, none reviewed since. The Policy MOT sorts the lot in one go, so the next time a funder, auditor or the Commission asks, you're ready.

How it works

One email from you, a week's work from us.

1

Send us what you have

Email your existing policies — however old, however messy. Tell us a little about what your charity does (children? vulnerable adults? employees? premises?).

2

We check everything

Each policy is reviewed against current requirements and good practice; we identify what's stale, what's missing for a charity like yours, and what you have that you don't need.

3

You get the full service

Refreshed versions of what needs updating, tailored drafts of what's missing, a clear report of what changed and why, and a review schedule so nothing lapses again.

What's included

  • Full review of your existing policies — against what UK charities are legally required to have and what the Commission expects
  • Stale policies refreshed — updated to current requirements, in plain English, in your charity's name
  • Missing policies drafted — tailored to your actual activities — not generic templates with your name pasted in
  • A plain-English report — what we changed, what we added, what your trustees should formally adopt
  • A three-year review schedule — loaded into our free compliance calendar so the folder never rots again
  • Board-ready adoption wording — the exact minute your board can pass to adopt the lot
Which policies? The usual suspects: safeguarding, health & safety, data protection & privacy, financial controls, conflicts of interest, reserves, complaints, volunteers — plus whatever your particular work requires. If you're not sure what you have, send the folder as-is; untangling it is the job.

Fair questions, straight answers

How long does it take?

Five working days for a typical small charity's folder. If yours is bigger or unusually tangled, we'll tell you the timescale up front before you commit.

Is this legal advice?

No — it's governance administration against published requirements and Commission guidance. Where a policy genuinely needs a lawyer's eye (rare for small charities), we'll flag it clearly rather than pretend.

What if we have no policies at all?

Surprisingly common, never judged. The MOT works fine from zero — you'll get the core set a charity of your size and activity needs, tailored and ready to adopt.

We're a PTA / sports club / village hall, not a registered charity — does this work for us?

Yes — the required list changes with your structure and activities, and that's exactly what we check. Tell us what you are and we'll review against the right rulebook.
